Permanent Exposition

From the time of foundation up-till-now, the exposition of the House-Museum continues to be updated and modernized, new technological solutions and approaches are introduced and applied.

The first exposition of the Museum opened on January 23, 1984, as if completing a series of events dedicated to the 80th birthday anniversary of the world-famous composer.

The materials selected for the exposition from the collection of the House-Museum are presented in the halls according to the chronology of the composer’s life.

They, chronologically, present his childhood, youth, the years of study, the first steps in the world of music, symphonic and instrumental works created during the years of his creative upsurge, conducting and teaching activities. The composer is also represented among contemporaries, colleagues, world-known representatives of culture, politicians and public figures, at the center of important political and cultural events of his time.

You can also enjoy the exposition of the masterpieces of Maestro’s creativity – the ballets “Gayaneh” and “Spartacus”, their triumph in different countries of the world, their rich stage history.

The attention of visitors is attracted by the unique old piano and grand piano, which are included in permanent exposition, which Aram Khachaturian played during his concert tours through South America in 1957. The museum received instruments as gifts from Brazil and Argentina.

The Maestro’s personal grand piano is also one of the unique exhibits of the House.

The emotionality of these impressions is complemented by music playing everywhere in the museum.

The exposition of the museum continues to grow to this day. Lovers of Khachaturian’s music always have a unique opportunity to discover new and interesting facts about his life and creative activity.
