From the very first day of its foundation, the House-Museum has been collecting the materials related to the life, activity and rich creative heritage of Aram Khachaturian from all over the world. Nowadays, the museum has collected and archived more than 18,000 museum exhibits, including personal items, photographs, letters, manuscripts, publications and autographs, posters, sculptures, etc., about 13,000 of them are in the main collection.

The main collection includes exhibits donated by the composer’s son, Karen Khachaturian, including Aram Khachaturian’s grand piano, country house bedroom furniture, household and personal items, clothes, and some part of a personal archive.

Materials are gathered from the composer’s friends, colleagues, students, Armenian and foreign admirers of his activity, the Armenian diaspora.

The composer’s handwritten letters and scores are among the most valuable specimens of the collection.

The museum periodically supports the publication of books and monographs, with the help of collected museum exhibits and accumulated scientific research. Maestro’s museum also provides the necessary materials to Armenian and foreign representatives of culture for various research and scientific work.
